Visit to Blenheim Palace

30th September 2026

Blenheim Palace is a World Heritage Site and has 200 years of history, stories and treasures to be explored. Share the splendours of Baroque architecture and wonder at the collection, which includes art, tapestries and fine furniture.

The Palace was a gift from Queen Anne to the 1st Duke of Marlborough after he defeated the French at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704. It is now the home of the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family.

This is an opportunity to discover the life of Sir Winston Churchill, including the room in which he was born and to visit the Temple of Diana - the romantic spot where Churchill proposed to his beloved Clementine Hozier. During our visit we will have a themed talk on ‘Ladies of Blenheim’ which will look at the strong women who have steered the Palaces’s history.

With 2000 acres of beautiful Capability Brown landscaped parkland to enjoy, there are inspiring views, monuments and a rich variety of wild life.

The formal gardens give an opportunity to relax: see the Water Terraces, Rose Garden and the Churchill Memorial Garden.

A miniature train takes visitors to enjoy a Butterfly House, Lavender Garden and Marlborough Hedge Maze at cost of 50p per single journey.

This outing had been scheduled some years ago, but was cancelled due to the pandemic. Entrance fees have, alas, risen in the last six years, but, compared to the ‘on the day’ cost of £60 per person, our coach-inclusive outing remains good value for our members.
