Presented by Andrew Negus

Synopsis
Andrew Negus will show how and why the city of Winchester grew from a collection of Iron Age huts into the splendid capital of England. Then we shall discover that Winchester became involved in national events which brought wealth and prestige, but sometimes extreme violence and destruction. We shall meet rich and crafty bishops and look at the magnificent buildings and institutions they created.
