AI (Artificial Intelligence) Why all the fuss?

Synopsis
Stephen Hawking said that Artificial Intelligence would be “either the best, or the worst thing, ever to happen to humanity”. This talk will explore the AI scene to see why this view might be justified and how we might be able to control the outcome. We will look at what AI can do and can’t do, and how it might evolve. Along the way we will look at the ethics involved and also how AI may impact planet Earth.

Having graduated in engineering at Cambridge, Michael spent most of his career in sales and marketing in  the high tech industry (but not AI). His teenage hobby of electronics morphed into early micro computers and then recently into researching and using AI.
